Migrants treated like felons

As a matter of law, crossing the border without inspection is a misdemeanor, not a felony. Overstaying your visa isn’t a crime at all. Removal (i.e., deportation) is a civil, not a criminal, procedure. And the right to apply for asylum is guaranteed under US law and international law.

Dozens of migrants a day are being taken to community hospitals, where doctors are challenging security procedures that they say are harming patients.
