Bidenomics?? How about Biden’s economic proposals?

Paul Krugman in the NYT:”But if you’re trying to assess the candidates’ economic claims, you should know that Trump’s predictions of a Biden bust lack credibility, not just because Trump lies about everything, but because Republicans always predict disaster from progressive policy, and have never yet been right.

“And you should also know that Biden’s assertions that his plan would give the economy a significant boost are well grounded in mainstream economics and supported by independent, nonpartisan analyses.

“So Biden’s economic claims are, in fact, credible; Trump’s aren’t.”

The former vice president?s tax and spending claims are credible; Trump?s aren?t.

Some people’s asses aren’t worth saving

Mohammed bin Salman’s is one of them. But Trump says he believes MBS’s denials that he ordered Khashoggi’s murder. Innocent until proven guilty, I guess.

Trump said MBS told him he was innocent and then stressed Saudi Arabia's importance as a US trading partner. The CIA found MBS ordered the killing.

Republicans suppressing the vote? Shocking!

Democrats want as many people to vote as possible; Republicans want as few people to vote as possible. Unfortunately, Republicans are better than than the Democrats at this game. The Republicans are inspired by the Spirit of Lee Atwater, the Democrats by, well, no spirit.

About a month ago, we laid out five ways that Republicans are making it harder to vote and more generally undermining the electoral process in 2020. We focused ?

Republicans truly do live in a “post-fact” world

“Rather than look for campaign ammunition in the former vice president’s long track record of politically vulnerable votes and policy proposals, Trump has instead chosen to describe Biden as a godless Marxist bent on destroying the country with a radical agenda that would make Che Guevara blanch.

“The caricature is one that neither Biden’s critics nor supporters recognize — but it’s one Trump continues to promote.”

The president has concocted a profile of the presumptive Democratic nominee at odds with much of Biden’s personal and professional life.

Dog bites man non-news: Trump ignores Constitution

“Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons.” U.S. Constitution, Article I, section 2, paragraph 3 (emphasis added).

President Donald Trump signed a presidential memorandum on Tuesday that would exclude undocumented immigrants from being counted in congressional districts when district lines are redrawn next year.
